The first question that everyone asks me about the BP MS 150 ride – Is it really 150 miles? The answer is – the distance that you actually ride over the two days can vary depending on how grueling you want it to be. There are various starting points and therefore the distance you cover on day one can vary from 76 miles to 100 miles. Once you can convince your sore butt to get on the saddle on day two, you can either go easy on the Pfizer Lunch Express route and do 66 miles or if you feel lunch is for wimps then try the Bechtel Challenge route for 77 miles. But the miles do not matter – what matters is the incredible experience of preparing for the event, the camaraderie and the spirit to do good.
Bike MS is a series of 100 extraordinary cycling events across the country. And the statistics are just amazing - Today, there is at least one ride offered in every state. In 2011, more than 110,000 cyclists participated in 100 rides throughout the country, raising more than $86 million. Since its inception in 1980, Bike MS cyclists have raised more than $1 billion.
